Miracle on the Street: Baby is born after her mother dies in run over accident

The police officer who found her: “God was there with us to give us the necessary wisdom in a moment like this”.
“I want the baby to be named Milagros (Miracles in Spanish), because that is what she was.God was there with us every moment”.
That is how she summarized the amazing event witnessed by officer Emilce Iramaín, who discovered what according to her and to the doctors, can only be considered a miracle.
On Friday night, while patrolling the city of Buenos Aires (Argentina), at the corner of routes 8 and 202, in San Miguel, Emilce and her partner, Gonzalo, noticed that a truck had run over a pedestrian. When they approached, Emilce saw the lifeless body of a woman, but noticed that something was moving inside her pants. The woman, who had passed away seconds before, was giving birth. Right there on the street.
Emilce’s partner cut traffic, while she helped the baby girl complete her own delivery. “¡I still don’t understand where I got the courage to break the pants and help the little baby who screamed to live, she was being born!”, she wrote on social media. The ambulance did not take too long and when the baby began to feel the cold of the night, she was taken to the Larcade Hospital.
During that unforgettable night, Emilce could go to the hospital to perform toxicologic exams on the driver and asked about the girl. She was informed that the baby was fine, without a scratch and weighing 2 kg and currently in the NCU. “¡I cannot explain the joy I felt when I saw her, the satisfaction of knowing that we acted well at the precise moment and that God was there with us to give us the necessary wisdom in such a moment!, she wrote.
A few days passed before a relative of the girl appeared. “She thanked us, and held us and cried of joy, and said that despite the tragedy, we were able to keep a little piece of her daughter alive”, said Emilce.
The young mother used to clean windshields on that corner. In fact, the police officers had seen her while patrolling, five minutes earlier. The accident happened at 34 weeks of pregnancy, but for labor to have started like it did, several variables had to come into action. Basically, the conditions in which the birth occurred, even with the mortal blow, indicate that labor had already began before with adequate conditions. There are no logical explanations as to how that could have happened. Even more so since, as told by the officers, the driver totally ran over the mother. Even if the baby may have been expelled due to the accident, the fact that she was born with no problems related to the impact and that qualified police officers had been only feet away from the accident to help deliver the child and call the ambulance, surely gives grounds to believe in miracles.
Emilce and Gonzalo will be promoted in the Police Force of the province for their outstanding development during Milagros’s birth. A miracle on the street.
